I grew up on
a sheep and beef farm in Northland. I have a background in sales and
marketing within the newspaper industry. Over 30 years I worked with
businesses to maximise their profits through increased sales. I
held senior management positions within both Independent Newspapers
Ltd and Wilson & Horton Ltd. (Now Fairfax and APN respectively.) I
also owned and managed businesses publishing community newspapers in
both Auckland and Northland.
I served for
several years as a member of the NZ Community Newspapers Association
Executive Committee and, as a member of the Advertising Standards
Authority, was involved in modernising and maintaining the Advertising
Codes of Practice.
I studied for and
was awarded a REINZ salesperson's certificate in 2003. My main focus
is on marketing and advertising and I bring these skills to the real
estate industry at a time when cutting through the many messages to
get noticed is more challenging than ever.
My husband John Reid
and I own and run a real estate business in Manukau.
I also run a consultancy company
Leighshaw
Consultants Ltd.
I am writing this book
to help people who are selling their houses privately, because I
believe many people are quite capable of doing so if they have the
information and advice they need. |
